Last year, against #17 Cincinnati, the Pirates offense showed flashes of a potential beast mode. Ahlers was on all cylinders and the scoreboard lit up like it used. Yes, it was ultimately a loss, but the potential was there.
Quarterback Holton Ahlers was on fire, finding star receivers all over the field. C.J. Johnson, Tyler Snead, and Jsi Hatfield looked like a veteran receiving crew despite their youth.
The O-line even held it together.
That potential, if realized in a consistent fashion in 2020-21 could elevate the Pirates to at least half-way there. If the Pirates can engage in shootouts and deliver offensively, 6 wins could be there in the end.
