Here is a number to consider: One (1). For Pirates fans suffering through three-straight three-win seasons prior to the arrival of Coach Mike Houston, that was a big ONE. Yes, who would have thought that a one-game improvement in the record could engender so much hope for a program. Coach Houston will get all benefits of the doubt going into this season…and with the coach, comes a team that for the most part, showed that they can score a lot of points if they are firing on all cylinders. A look back at 2019 as we cross-fingers for 2020 to happen.
For Houston and the fan-base, the number 1 may not do the trick this time around. IMO, a 6 win campaign would probably suffice as a marker of real progress.
